Applebee's Customer Alleges Fingertip In Salad

(RTTNews) - An Applebbe's customer has filed a lawsuit against the restaurant, claiming she was served a bloody fingertip in her Chinese chicken salad.

Cathleen Martin was dining at one of Applebee's California locations with her husband and their child when they discovered the severed fingertip.

"It was so gross," Martin explained in a news release issued by the law firm representing her. "I'm on pins and needles worrying about what my family might have been exposed to."

Martin's claim seeks unspecified damages for emotional distress, medical expenses for testing and lost income.

The restaurant management confirmed that the fingertip belonged to an employee and that it was "unacceptable." The cook has agreed to a screening in order to "provide the peace of mind Mrs. Martin seeks," the restaurant said.
