Annaly Capital Management Turns To Profit In Q3

(RTTNews) - Annaly Capital Management Inc. (NLY) Wednesday reported third-quarter net income available to common shareholders of $174.5 million or $0.18 per share, compared to net loss of $215.4 million or $0.22 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

Core earnings for the latest third quarter were $282.3 million or $0.28 per share, compared with $306.3 million or $0.30 per share in the prior year quarter.

Net interest income for the period dropped to $551.7 million from $579.4 million last year, while total other loss was $299.93 million, wider than $277.69 million in the year-ago quarter.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.34 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
