Amkor Posts Higher Q1 Profit

(RTTNews) - Amkor Technology, Inc. (AMKR) reported net income for the first quarter of $20.6 million or $0.09 per share, compared to $13.4 million or $0.07 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Net Sales for the first quarter grew 1% to $696.04 million from $687.53 million a year ago.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.03 per share on revenue of $678.13 million for the first quarter.

Looking forward to the second quarter, the company forecasts net sales of $735 million to $785 million and and earnings of $18 million to $43 million, or $0.08 to $0.18 per share. Analysts currently expect the company to earn $0.12 per share on revenue of $733.77 million for the second quarter.
