American Woodmark Q3 Earnings Rise

(RTTNews) - American Woodmark Corp. (AMWD), a maker of kitchen cabinets and vanities for remodeling and new-home construction markets, Tuesday reported an increase in earnings for the third quarter, helped by growth in sales.

For the third quarter, earnings rose to $2.9 million, or $0.18 per share, from $2.06 million, or $0.14 per share, a year earlier.

On average, six analysts polled by Thomson-Reuters estimated the company's earnings to $0.29 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.

Net sales for the 3-month period rose to $169.03 million from $151.35 million a year earlier. The company said there has been a growth in new construction as well as remodeling during the period.
