AMC Networks Profit Top Estimates

(RTTNews) - AMC Networks Inc (AMCX), the operator of cable television brands, on Monday reported first-quarter net earnings of $120.9 million or $1.66 per share compared with $71.4 million or $0.98 per share last year.

Excluding items, adjusted earnings for the quarter were $1.76 per share compared with $1.04 per share a year ago.

Revenues for the quarter were $668.7 million compared with $524.6 million in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $1.48 per share on revenues of $655.7 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

AMCX is trading at $79.00, up $2.70 or 3.54%, on the Nasdaq.
