Alma Media: The Supreme Courts’ Ruling in the Case Of CEO Kai Telanne and Work Discrimination

The Supreme Court of Finland has today confirmed the ruling of The Court of Appeal of Helsinki in the case of discrimination at work by Mr. Kai Telanne, Alma Media’s President and CEO, and raised the amount of related fine from 15 to 40 day fines.

The Court of Appeal of Helsinki sentenced Mr. Telanne in 2013 to pay a fine for discrimination at work in connection with the termination of the director contract of Ms. Johanna Korhonen in the autumn of 2008. Previously, the District Court of Helsinki had released Mr. Telanne from charges.
