CBS Corp. (CBS) was up 1 percent to $61.85. The company's first quarter earnings declined from the year-ago quarter, as a result of the lower operating income reflecting a higher investment in sports and entertainment programming. Revenue declined from the year-ago quarter. The company noted that the quarter was affected by the broadcast of one fewer National Football League playoff game on the CBS Television Network and lower advertising revenues at Local Broadcasting segment.

Biogen Inc. (BIIB) gained 1 percent to $388.00 following the announcement on its plan to repurchase up to $5 billion of the company's common stock.

Tableau Software, Inc. (DATA) gained over 7 percent to $105.00 as its non-GAAP earnings per share and revenue exceeded expectations.

Decliners:

NVIDIA Corp. (NVDA) was down 1 percent to $22.20. The company's first quarter profit was lower compared to the year-ago quarter. Revenues improved 4 percent, but missed the consensus estimate. The company guided second quarter revenue below Street view. At the same time, the company boosted its repurchase program and raised quarterly cash dividend.

Yelp Inc. (YELP) was down nearly 1 percent to $46.65 after closing the day's regular session up 23 percent at $47.01 amidst reports that it is seeking to self itself.

Monster Beverage Corp. (MNST) fell 4 percent to $137.60. The company's first quarter profit plunged from the prior year period, negatively impacted by $206.0 million of termination obligations as a result of distributor terminations. Adjusted earnings per share for the quarter missed Street view.

Sprouts Farmers Market, Inc. (SFM) declined 8 percent to $27.55 as its first quarter results were below Wall Street estimates. The company also guided full-year 2015 adjusted earnings per share below Street view.

Fluidigm Corp. (FLDM) was down 14 percent to $32.20 as both its top-line and bottom-line missed market view. The company noted that revenue did not meet its internal expectations due to several factors, including timing of CyTOF orders and shipments, a shortfall in Biomark system revenues, and weak genomics analytical consumables sales.
