After-market Movers For May 19 (CSC, YHOO, ADI, SRPT, DY, ADSK, ACHN, ETSY)
(RTTNews) - Gainers:
Computer Sciences Corp. (CSC) gained 5 percent to $70.90. The company announced its plan to separate into two publicly traded companies: one to serve commercial and government clients globally and one to serve public sector clients in the U.S. In addition, the company announced that its fourth quarter profit plunged from the year-ago quarter, while adjusted earnings topped Street view. Meanwhile, revenue for the quarter fell 12.6 percent and missed the consensus estimate.
Yahoo! Inc. (YHOO) was up 1 percent to $41.40, stabilizing after closing the day's regular session down 7 percent at $40.98 on fear that Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. (BABA) spin-off would be hindered by IRS rule change.
Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) was up 1 percent to $64.00. The company's second quarter adjusted earnings per share and revenues were above analysts' expectations. The company forecast its top end of the third quarter adjusted earnings per share guidance to meet Street view, while revenues in line with analysts' estimate.
Sarepta Therapeutics, Inc. (SRPT) surged 38 percent to $22.69 based on the news that it held a pre-New Drug Application meeting with the FDA regarding its lead product candidate, eteplirsen, for the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
Dycom Industries Inc. (DY) improved 14 percent to $52.88 as its third quarter results topped Wall Street expectations. The company also guided fourth quarter results above Street view.
Decliners:
Autodesk, Inc. (ADSK) declined 2 percent to $56.40 as it lowered its fiscal 2016 revenue growth and earnings guidance. The company forecast second quarter adjusted earnings per share and revenue below analysts' estimate and also expects to report a loss on a GAAP basis. Meanwhile, the company's first quarter results topped Street view.
Achillion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (ACHN) fell 3 percent to $10.35. The company has entered into a worldwide license and collaboration arrangement with Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. to develop and commercialize one or more of lead hepatitis C virus assets. Additionally, in an equity transaction, Johnson & Johnson Innovation will invest $225 million in Achillion.
ETSY INC (ETSY) plunged 17 percent to $17.40. The company reported a sharply wider loss in its first quarter due to non-cash, non-operating expenses related to the updated global corporate structure that it implemented on January 1, 2015.
