Aetna Inc Q3 adjusted earnings Beat Estimates

(RTTNews) - Aetna Inc (AET) announced earnings for its third quarter that climbed from last year.

The company's profit totaled $1.00 billion, or $3.03 per share. This compares with $0.84 billion, or $2.52 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Excluding items, Aetna Inc reported adjusted earnings of $977 million or $2.96 per share for the period.

The company's revenue for the quarter rose 3.3% to $15.48 billion from $14.99 billion last year.
