Active Power Appoints Uwe Schrader-Hausmann Chief Technical Officer

Active Power, Inc. (NASDAQ: ACPW), inventor and manufacturer of the most energy-efficient critical power systems in the world, today announced the appointment of Uwe Schrader-Hausmann as chief technical officer. Schrader-Hausmann will oversee the company’s technical innovation efforts in the areas of research and development, engineering and technical service and support functions on a global scale. In addition to this role, he will continue to serve as managing director of Active Power (Germany) GmbH.

A holder of one U.S. patent and two international patents, Schrader-Hausmann has more than 28 years experience in the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) market. He most recently served as vice president, Technical Services for Active Power. Prior to this, Schrader-Hausmann was technical director for the company’s EMEA territory (Europe, Middle East and Africa). Prior to joining Active Power, Schrader-Hausmann worked in various positions at Piller Power Systems GmbH, serving as chief technology officer and quality manager.
