Abercrombie: No More Barechested Models

(RTTNews) - Abercrombie & Fitch said it would stop hiring store employees based on their body type or physical attractiveness, and that its events, including store openings, will no longer have the presence of shirtless models.

The move is part of personnel policies the teen-focused casual apparel retailer is implementing in order to lessen the focus on employees' looks, and more on customers.

It also somewhat marks a departure from the debonair image it culitvated under former long-time CEO Michael Jeffries.

Also as part of the new personnel policies, Abercrombie will relax its "Look policy" so that employees can dress themselves.

The company said it would take time to see the impact of the new policies on sales.
