3D Systems Q1 Profit Slips, But Adj. EPS Matches View - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - 3D Systems Corp. (DDD) reported a drop in first-quarter 2014 net income attributable to the company to $4.88 million, from last year's $5.88 million, with earnings per share dropping year-on-year to $0.05, from $0.06.

On a non-GAAP basis, earnings of $0.15 per share were reported in the latest quarter. On average, 18 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings per share of $0.15 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.

Compared with last year, quarterly total revenue, however, grew 45% to $147.76 million, from $102.08 million, while 17 analysts estimated revenues of $145.5 million.

Commenting on the results, the company said: "Our first quarter results reflect expanding demand across all of our revenue categories, led by strong 76% unit sales growth of design and manufacturing printers, and the ongoing placement of manufacturing printers that continued to increase the growth rate of materials."
