To help meet the urgent needs of homeless women
MONTREAL, Oct. 8, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - In 2012-2013, Herstreet had to refuse as many as 3,730 requests for emergency shelter because it had no spaces available. In an effort to respond to this growing demand, Herstreet is taking on a major project aimed at opening a third house in Montreal. This project will allow the organization to offer homeless women 20 emergency shelter spaces and 30 day centre spaces. For Herstreet, this is an incredible opportunity to at once promote its innovative approach to relational health and improve the services and care it offers women.
This ambitious project requires a major gift campaign, "Towards a Third House", whose goal is to raise 2.5 million dollars. This campaign will be launched on the occasion of the 4th annual benefit event of the Herstreet Foundation, on October 15, 2013.
To discuss the importance of this third house to accommodate homeless women, you are invited to come and meet Léonie Couture, founder and executive director of Herstreet, and Catherine Proulx-Lemay, the actress who plays Michèle in the television series Unité 9, and who is the spokesperson for Herstreet.
