Windstream Slips To Q2 Loss, Ups 2015 Revenue Outlook - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - Communications and technology solutions provider Windstream Holdings, Inc. (WIN) reported a second-quarter net loss of $111.2 million or $1.13 per share, compared to net income of $14.0 million or $0.13 per share in the prior-year quarter.
Results for the latest quarter include about $65 million in one-time after-tax transaction related expenses.
Total revenues and sales for the quarter dropped 3 percent to $1.42 billion from $1.47 billion in the same quarter last year.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report loss of $0.61 per share and revenues of $1.42 billion for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Looking ahead to fiscal 2015, Windstream now projects revenues to be between down 3 percent and flat, up from the prior forecast between down 4 percent and flat. Street is currently looking for full-year 2015 revenue decline of 3.2 percent to $5.64 billion.
Windstream also announced a share repurchase program of up to $75 million, which is expected to be completed by December 31, 2016.
