MDU Resources Posts Q3 Profit - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - MDU Resources Group Inc. (MDU) Thursday reported third-quarter profit of $84.3 million or $0.44 per share, compared to a loss of $29.8 million or $0.16 per share in the same period last year.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter was $92.3 million or $0.49 per share. On average, nine analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.46 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Operating revenues increased to $1.29 billion from $1.17 billion last year. Analysts currently expect revenues of $1.25 billion.

For the fiscal 2013, the company has increased its adjusted earnings outlook to a range of $1.35 to $1.45 per share from its prior guidance range of $1.30 to $1.40 per share. Analysts currently expect full-year earnings of $1.40 per share.
