Guidance Software and CACI Alliance Provides U.S. Government Agencies with Full Service eDiscovery Solution

Guidance Software Inc. (NASDAQ:GUID), The World Leader in Digital Investigations™, today announced it has formed a strategic alliance with CACI International, Inc. (NYSE:CAI), a leading government IT systems integrator and services provider, to provide a comprehensive and leading-edge eDiscovery solution to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and other federal government agencies.

Under this alliance, CACI will provide EnCase® eDiscovery support for eDiscovery collection and processing services to the DOJ and other U.S. Government agencies on a pay-per-use basis. Electronic discovery is a significant component of the investigation and litigation support services both organizations provide. In addition to joint eDiscovery services, CACI will provide systems integration and implementation services for federal agencies that procure EnCase eDiscovery, as well as EnCase® Information Assurance—Guidance Software’s solution for detecting instances of classified data spillage and personal identifiable information (PII), and establishing trusted endpoints through integrated remediation.

This alliance is modeled after a recent and highly successful large-scale eDiscovery engagement in which CACI and Guidance Software teamed to utilize EnCase eDiscovery to preserve, search, collect, and process electronically stored information (ESI) from 800 employee desktops computers and several agency servers in multiple locations. In that matter—a major litigation brought against the U.S. Government and others—EnCase eDiscovery collected over the network and then processed over 21 terabytes of relevant ESI within tight time and budget constraints. Additionally, CACI successfully employed its OMEGA review software, a web portal that integrates management and technical resources for both CACI and DOJ users, providing DOJ attorneys with powerful search capabilities to quickly and effectively scan through the vast repositories of evidentiary material, which in this case was collected with EnCase eDiscovery. Together, EnCase eDiscovery and OMEGA provide a proven and complete eDiscovery solution.
