(RTTNews) - AMC Networks Inc.'s (AMCX) third-quarter 2014 net income from continuing operations slid to $54 million, or $0.74 per share, from $58 million, or $0.80 per share, in the year-ago period, reflecting the decline in operating income and an increase in miscellaneous expense partially offset by lower income tax expense. On average, 13 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.73 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

On the other hand, quarterly net revenues climbed 31.4% to $520 million over the prior-year figure of $395.3 million, led by 4.3% growth at National Networks and an increase of $109 million at International and Other. Analysts expected revenues of $511.06 million for the period.
