Finland's Current Account Surplus Rises Sharply In November
(RTTNews) - Finland' current account surplus increased notably in November, data released by Bank of Finland revealed Wednesday.
The current account showed a surplus of EUR426 million at the end of November, which was higher than the EUR218 million surplus seen in the previous month.
The improvement mainly reflected a marked increase in merchandise trade surplus, which grew to EUR313 million from EUR187 million a month earlier. At the same time, the surplus of services advanced to EUR120 million from EUR92 million.
The income account showed a surplus of EUR117 million in November, compared to October's EUR63 million surplus. The balance of current transfers was a deficit of EUR124 million in November, which was unchanged from the October level.
