ECUADOR: Government Assesses CAN Resolution On Withdrawal Of Customs Fee

(RTTNews) - Ecuador evaluates the recent resolution of the General Secretariat of the Andean Community (CAN) that rules the withdrawal of the Customs Control Service Fee.

The CAN adopted the resolution on April 20 and gave ten working days to Ecuador to withdraw the customs fee, considering that it contravenes its legal mechanisms for being a tax.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment and the National Customs Service of Ecuador are evaluating the procedural appeals, both administrative and judicial, within the framework of the Andean legal system, which would allow obtaining the review of the resolution issued by CAN," Quito said.

The Andean Community is composed of Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru.
