Croatia's Inflation Weakens In December

(RTTNews) - Croatia's consumer price inflation eased modestly in December, after rising in the previous month, data released by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics revealed Wednesday.

The consumer price index increased 0.3 percent on an annual basis in December, a tad weaker than the 0.4 percent rise seen a month earlier.

Contributing to the slowdown, food prices dropped 0.2 percent annually, and clothing and footwear prices decreased 5.3 percent. Transportation expenses were lower by 0.4 percent than in December 2012. The effect of these decreases were mitigated by a 0.8 percent rise in housing costs and utility prices.

Month-on-month, consumer prices decreased 0.2 percent in December, after dropping 0.1 percent a month earlier.
