Rite Aid Acquires RediClinic; Terms Undisclosed - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Retail drugstore chain operator Rite Aid Corp. (RAD) announced Thursday that it has acquired Houston-based RediClinic, retail clinics operator. Details of the transaction were not disclosed. RediClinic will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Rite Aid.

RediClinic currently operates 30 clinics in the greater Houston, Austin and San Antonio areas.

RediClinics are staffed by board certified nurse practitioners and physician assistants, who are trained and licensed to treat common conditions and provide preventive services, in collaboration with local physicians who are affiliated with a leading healthcare system in each market.

Additionally, RediClinics provide a broad range of preventive services, including screenings, medical tests, immunizations, and basic physical exams; and the company's innovative and acclaimed Weigh Forward weight/lifestyle management program is offered at RediClinics and licensed to other providers.
