ProAssurance Corp. Reveals 36% Drop In Q4 Profit

(RTTNews) - ProAssurance Corp. (PRA) reported a profit for fourth quarter that retreated compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line declined to $38.85 million, or $0.73 per share. This was lower than $60.35 million, or $1.04 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.76 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 14.7% to $185.90 million. This was down from $218.00 million last year.
