Polycom Inc Reveals 6% Drop In Q3 Bottom Line

(RTTNews) - Polycom Inc (PLCM) revealed a profit for third quarter that fell compared to the same period last year.

The company said its profit declined to $28.91 million, or $0.21 per share. This was lower than $30.74 million, or $0.22 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.21 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 9.7% to $303.11 million. This was down from $335.69 million last year.
