Latin American youth will study Communication in the United States with scholarships from Ismael Cala Foundation and Urbe University
MIAMI, Jan. 21, 2017 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ -- Ismael Cala Foundation (ICF) and Urbe University announced in Miami the grant of two scholarships to two young Latin Americans to study Social Communication in the United States.
The spots will be channeled through four organizations that work in five countries: Mentores Solidarios (Nicaragua), Fundación Carvajal (Colombia), Glasswing Internacional (El Salvador and Honduras) and Passion (Guatemala).
The beneficiaries can get a university diploma through online studies from their respective countries.
"It is a privilege to work with higher education institutions and offer opportunities to Latin American youth who don't have resources. I have always believed that the success factor for becoming leaders is education," said Ismael Cala when the partnership documents were signed.
Oscar Belloso, dean of Urbe University, pointed out the fact that his institution "is the first to grant scholarships to Ismael Cala Foundation," and he urged other educational institutions to do the same.
The delivery will be formalized in February, through a competition. The applicants will defend their candidacies and a committee will select the beneficiaries with the most suitable profiles.
Dilcia Ruan, executive director of ICF, said that the objective of the Scholarship Direction Program is to promote youth education and training through courses and/or careers in personal and professional improvement.
