Kindred Healthcare Loss Narrows; Tightens FY Guidance

(RTTNews) - Kindred Healthcare Inc (KND) Wednesday reported third-quarter net loss of $4.4 million or $0.07 per share compared with a loss of $107 million or $2.04 per share last year.

Core earnings from continuing operations for the quarter were $0.11 per share compared with $0.12 per share a year ago.

Revenues for the quarter were $1.24 billion compared with $1.18 billion in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.10 per share on revenues of $1.25 billion for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company announced a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.12 per common share.

Kindred narrowed its guidance for income from continuing operations for 2014, now expecting that to be in the range of $0.98 to $1.08 per share, from prior guidance of $0.96 to $1.14 per share.

Analysts expect earnings of $1.02 per share for the year.
