EZchip Slips To Loss On Charges; Stock Tanks

(RTTNews) - EZchip Semiconductor Ltd (EZCH) on Wednesday reported first-quarter net loss of $8.3 million or $0.28 per share compared with a profit of $6.1 million or $0.21 per share last year.

Excluding stock-based compensation expense and other one-time items, adjusted earnings for the quarter were $0.24 per share compared with $0.33 per share a year ago.

Revenues for the quarter were $26.9 million compared with $20.3 million in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.23 per share on revenues of $26.5 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
