Evoke Health Builds Powerhouse Creative Leadership Team

NEW YORK, May 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Evoke Health announces multiple executive additions and promotions to deepen its creative leadership across offices. The leading health and wellness marketing agency adds industry veterans Dave Cohen and Scott Lewis, while also promoting long-time Evoke alums Samantha Dolin, JC Parker, Heather Linnell, and Emily Spilko.

Dave Cohen (L) and Scott Lewis (R) join Evoke Health.

CEO Reid Connolly says the moves were in the making for some time. Connolly says, "These changes allow us to scale our creative leadership with the pace of the business while upping our overall creative game to a new level."

Dave Cohen joins Evoke Health Philadelphia as Executive Creative Director after more than two decades at Grey, where he ran the health and wellness group that included OTC and DTC, as well as purpose-driven brands like AARP. Cohen says what attracted him to Evoke was its focus on making health and wellness a total consumer experience, and an awareness that these brands have an oft-missed opportunity to build real relationships with customers, in the same way other brands do through big conceptual ideas.

"I believe we have an opportunity to be brand stewards, and to look beyond projects and tactics and channels," Cohen says. "By focusing on what is the heart and purpose of a brand, we can identify its true voice, and then connect with different audiences across any channel. That's what Evoke's 'Health More Human' mantra is all about."

While Cohen adds years of conceptual creativity, Scott Lewis brings a wealth of digital and RM experience, integrating these channels into 360 campaigns. Lewis joins Evoke Health New York as Executive Creative Director, coming from JWT, where he played a vital role in evolving the traditional agency's capabilities to include a more cross-channel perspective over the past 13 years. Lewis notes that he learned much from his past experience but was excited to join an agency that uniquely leverages its digital roots in a full-service offering.

"Every time I had heard about Evoke over the years everyone said 'great people, great work,'" notes Lewis. "Evoke is doing exciting work in all channels, but it's the integration and collaboration that makes it work. When I came in, I could see that people were here because they really wanted to be here—working in this category and on these projects. It was this attitude that most excited me."

In addition to these two new hires, Evoke Health President, Tom Donnelly, says that it was also important to recognize the existing creative team leaders that have been playing an essential role in getting the agency to where it is today. Samantha Dolin was promoted to Executive Creative Director in Philadelphia, while Heather Linnell and Emily Spilko were made Group Creative Directors in New York. Donnelly says, "Sam, Heather and Emily have been key players in their offices for some time, leading the teams that have been driving growth for our clients. In their new roles, they will be able to leverage their experience and bring their creative and leadership skills to more teams within each location."

JC Parker also saw a shift in his responsibilities as Executive Creative Director now in charge of concept development and platform storytelling with a focus on video and content. Donnelly adds, "We recognized JC's skills in building big, lasting brands and have seen how effortlessly he works across teams to deliver breakthrough DTC campaigns that differentiate our clients in crowded markets."

Parker says, "I'm excited about where Evoke is right now. We have creative leaders who are conceptual and strategic, with experience across consumer and professional marketing across all channels—and they are also fun to work with. It's a great time to be a part of this team."

Connolly notes that these changes position the agency to take on more work in the DTC and OTC categories, while continuing to define what a health and wellness agency today should look like. He adds, "Our creative team—across all levels—has never been stronger or more collaborative than it is today."
