Ascom Wireless Solutions Consolidates Top Position

According to fresh market data from UK analysts MZA Ltd, Ascom Wireless has grown its market shares and is now the world’s largest manufacturer of professional cordless phones.

The figures for 2012 show that Ascom Wireless Solutions has a market share of 17.3 percent in the market for professional cordless phones, consolidating the position as global leader. That’s a sharp increase from the 16 percent market share of 2011.

"We are pleased to see that our positive trend continues. We are now the leading global supplier in the field”, said Claes Ödman, General Manager of Ascom Wireless Solutions.

The figures take into account the total number of manufactured units globally, including both Ascom branded products and OEM production.

"We can look back on a successful year with increasing sales in the OEM market. But we have also seen great progress with the Ascom brand, particularly in the healthcare field”, said Claes Ödman.

The market for professional cordless phones is dominated by the DECT and VoWiFi, Voice over WiFi, technologies. Ascom Wireless Solutions can look back on a period of great success with increasing sales in both these technologies, particularly on the North American market.
