Alcon Announces Wolfgang Reichenberger to Leave Board

Alcon, Inc. (NYSE:ACL) announced today that WolfgangReichenberger advised the board of directors that he will be steppingdown from his position as a director of Alcon, effective December 31,2005. This decision follows his announcement that he will be leavingNestle S. A. at the end of 2005 to set up and manage the Nestle GrowthFund. The board of directors will consider and advise after its nextBoard meeting, in February, 2006, as to the candidate forconsideration by the shareholders to fill this position at the AlconAnnual General Meeting to be held on May 2, 2006.

Mr. Reichenberger has been a director of Alcon since its initialpublic offering in 2002 and has contributed greatly to Alcon'sstrategic business and financial direction over the past three years.Alcon extends its thanks and appreciation to Mr. Reichenberger for hiscontribution to the Company and wishes him every success in his futureendeavors.
